Cancer House of Hope offers a variety of support groups, relaxation groups, information, and, most importantly, community (see Programs below).

A Recent Diagnosis of Cancer: Dealing with the overwhelming time of new diagnosis. Support persons welcomed. Springfield.

Toda Clase de Cancer (Espanol): Grupo de apoyo donde hablamos espanol para persona con todo tipo de cancer. Springfield.

All Cancers (English): For adults with any type of cancer. Support persons welcomed. Westfield and Springfield.

Breast Cancer: For women of all ages, with all types of breast cancer. A great supportive community. Support persons welcomed. Springfield.

Exploring Spirituality: Designed to provide participants the opportunity to reflect, cherish and draw strength from their own spirituality. Westfield.

Living with Advanced Cancer: For people with any type of advanced cancer. Exploring needs, feelings and issues with others who understand. Westfield and Springfield.

Bereavement: Exploring ways to grieve your losses while continuing to fully embrace life. Westfield and Springfield.

Cancer Conqueror Self-Help Group: Conversations about cancer survivorship, based on the renowned "Cancer Conqueror" books. Cultivating the positive. Westfield.

What Now? When Treatment Ends: Helping people find the "new normal" - finding your way back to some of the "old" and embracing the "new." Support for a time that can often feel unsupported. Springfield.

Melanoma: An informative and supportive group for melanoma. Co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Melanoma Foundation. Springfield.

Blood Cancers: Information and support for individuals, families and friends. Co-sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Springfield.

Men's Social & Support Group: The Men's Social & Support Group offers men who are facing a battle with cancer or supporting a loved one with the opportunity to connect with other men through support and activities. men discuss how to successfully live with cancer while offering support and encouragement to their families in the process. Westfield.

A Helping Hand: Mom's Support Group: The Mom's Group offers mothers with cancer the opportunity to connect with other moms who are sharing similar experiences. Cancer diagnosis and treatment is difficult enough, but when young and school-age children, husbands and household responsibilities are thrown into the mix, the challenges can be extremely daunting. Springfield. The Mom's Group is underwritten by a grant from the Chicopee Savings Foundation

Group Nutritional Counseling: Proper nutrition is essential during treatment and afterwards and we can help you receive valuable information on how you can adopt and maintain good nutritional habits! Members in Springfield and Westfield have the opportunity to receive crucial nutritional tips and information. No matter where you are in your cancer journey or if you are regularly preparing meals for a loved one who received a cancer diagnosis, this program is for you! Springifeld and Westfield. Nutritional Counseling is underwritten by the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation

Nutritional Consult: For people with cancer who are on Medicaid or Medicare or who have no health insurance. Springfield and Westfield.

Relaxation Groups: Participants are led through exercises to help them relax. They also explore the connection between stress and illness and learn ways to practice relaxation techniques on their own. Westfield and Springfield.

Life-Coaching: Often, people who have received a diagnosis of cancer find that this life-altering experience can bring about motivation to change careers, leave negative relationships behind and pursue interests and new passions. In Life-Coaching, members will have the chance to find the courage to discover what you really want, stare down and move past fears and sabotaging behaviors, harness the power of focus, get out of your head and trust your gut and much more. Springfield.

Reiki Therapy: Promotes and enhances the body's natural healing abilities and restores a sense of well being.
Fridays by appointment, Westfield. Thursdays by appointment, Springfield.

The Lebed Method - Focus on Healing Through Dance & Movement: Lebed is a therapeutic exercise and movement program for those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer or other forms of cancer and those who currently or previously received radiation/chemotherapy treatment. Movements are simple and designed for men and women with no dance experience, while the sessions focus on recovery, positive expression, and celebration. Springfield. Healing Art of Yoga for Ongoing Cancer Recovery: Enjoy vibrant health and well-being, deep relaxation and comforting companionship in this fun fitness program and support group for those affected by cancer. Learn and practice gentle yoga with individualized assistance for increasing strength, flexibility and balance; and meditation for deep relaxation. This program is open to anyone ever diagnosed with cancer (including those in treatment) or recent cancer caregivers. Co-sponsored by Rays of Hope. Westfield and Springfield.

Information
Internet Searches: Searches are done, upon request, for the latest clinical trials, alternative therapies, and any other desired information on particular cancers. These searches are completed for all who request them, whether or not they attend Cancer House of Hope.

Lending Library: Books, pamphlets, videotapes and audiotapes on many different cancers and the different aspects of cancer. Also information for children and adolescents and prevention information. Access to the Internet is available, as well.
